Franco Venanti

Franco Venanti (born November 6, 1930 in Perugia ) is an Italian painter .

Career

In 1963 he founded the cultural association "Luigi Bonazzi", together with Gerardo Dottori and other intellectuals of Perugia, of which he was president until 1974. The aim of the association is to make known historical, scientific and artistic aspects of Umbria . In 1970 he exhibited abroad for the first time, at the Madrid and Barcelona Biennials . In 1978 he received the Valentino d'oro from the city of Terni for artistic merit.

In 1985 he was appointed Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Sandro Pertini . In 2003 Carlo Azeglio Ciampi awarded him the Medaglia d'argento ai benemeriti della cultura e dell'arte . Then the city of Perugia entered it in the Golden Book of the most famous citizens.

In 1993 he had a solo exhibition at Thomas & Gallery Kou Saburo Hwang in Tokyo .

His work can be found in numerous private and public collections in Germany and abroad.
