Frank Bolle
Frank Bolle (born June 23, 1924 in New York City - May 12, 2020 ) was an American comic artist .
Life
Bolle was born in New York in 1924 and grew up there. As a child he was so fond of drawing that he drew something on every piece of paper he could get his hands on. He attended the High School of Music and Art .
After World War II , Bolle found work in the flourishing comic industry. He started his career at Magazine Enterprises , where he drew westerns such as: B. Tim Holt , Redmask and Best of the West . He also drew science fiction comics, a. a. Buck Rogers , Flash Gordon and Dr. Solar (Man of the Atom). The latter is his most popular superhero who appeared on Western Publishing . In Germany, Doctor Solar , the atomic man, was published by Bildschriftenverlag (BSV).
Frank Bolle drew Grimm's Stories , Boris Karloff 's Tales of Mystery and Rod Sterling's Twilight Zone for Western Publishing .
