Frank Bussmann (born October 20, 1972 in Beelen ) is a German inline speed skater .

Athletic career

In 2017, Frank Bussmann was again European champion in inline speed skating on the marathon distance. In St. Moritz / Engadin / Switzerland, Frank Bussmann became European champion for the second time in a row under the most difficult conditions. At 0 degrees and sleet, as well as slush on the 42.195 km long route, Frank Bussmann was able to prevail again against his competition in the sprint. Professionally, Frank Bussmann is managing director of the Pure Health Company and manager of the IKK BB PURE Racing team, which he founded in 2016, and u. a. is sponsored by IKK BB and Zweirad Stadler. It consists of three teams of five - the cycling, the inline speed skating and the running triathlon team. He wants to give amateur and amateur athletes as well as company sports groups the opportunity to train professionally within the framework of company health promotion. He also offers seminars on team coaching, training control and planning, nutrition, etc. for everyone. He rounds off his corporate philosophy via his B2B channel, which builds a bridge between hobby athletes and companies. The IKK BB PURE RACING TEAM has been one of the most successful teams in the world since 2016. With three former world and European champions as well as German champions, Frank Bussmann has international top stars in his team.

After almost 5 years of abstinence, Bussmann reported back on the competition platform in 2016. At the German championships he was German champion at half marathon distance. In June 2016, he also won the European title. Bussmann also won the title on the marathon distance in September 2016. In the overall ranking of the German Inline Cup 2017, Frank Bussmann took 12th place, four of his team riders finished in the top 10. In inline speed skating, he became the German marathon champion (M30) in 2007 and finished fourth in the European marathon championship (M30). In the German Blade Challenge individual ranking in 2007, he came in 18th (3rd place in the M30 age group). Approx. 25,000 km of racing bikes, he covered around 8,000 km on inline skates in 2008. Through the joint cycling training with professional cyclist Jens Voigt from the Leopardt-Trek cycling team, he was able to train his experience and mental strength and use it for his inline skate races.

He was team manager at the Zweirad-Center Stadler , and driver for the Stadler racing team . The team consisted of two departments - cycling and the speed skating / inline speed skating sports group. At the same time he headed the U23 Bundesliga cycling team, which consisted of German champions and six-day racing drivers ( standing ). He designed the team collection himself and signed contracts with sponsors of both teams, u. a. with WWK insurance as the main sponsor of the inline speed skate team (2011). He selected the best drivers from worldwide applications for the skate team and put them together to form a harmonious team; he was able to fall back on his own experience as a skater.

Bussmann was again in 2010 German champion AK30 in the marathon (42.195 km) and also German champion in the double marathon (84 km). With the national team (Oliver Engel, Michael Puderbach and Sebastian Rehse) Frank Bussmann became European champion. He drove Oliver Engel on the home straight to the European championship title and through the further placements of the national team drivers the team won gold at the European championships in 2010. Frank Bussmann became vice European champion in inline speed skating (M30) in 2008, German champion over the double marathon distance ( 84 km) in the M30 age group and took bronze (M30) at the German Marathon Championships. At the “Berlin Marathon”, he set a world record with 10 seconds behind the winner. With a time of 1:00:43 hours for 42.195 km (marathon) it is also one of the fastest in the world.

Life and work

Bussmann completed his apprenticeship as a confectioner in 1994 with a journeyman's certificate. In 1999 he passed the Abitur on the second educational path. He then studied English and sports in Bielefeld. Later he worked as a snowboard instructor and mountain bike guide abroad. He was a commercial clerk at the Zweirad-Center Stadler Berlin.

From 2007 to 2010 he had a permanent contract as team manager of the Stadler Racing Team, which he founded in 2006. The establishment of this team created a new professional and business branch, which Frank Bussmann has been pursuing full-time ever since. In 2010 he ended his professional career as a speed skater to devote himself to his company and his own inline speed skate team, which consisted of national and international riders, among others. a. The brothers Elio and Giacomo Cuncu and Martin Thaler belonged to him. With them, the Bussmann Racing Team took 2nd place in the highest racing series in Europe in 2011, the German Inline Cup. The Cuncu brothers, Etienne Ramali and Alexander Bastidas are also part of the PURE Racing Team 2016. Other former professional athletes, such as B. Sascha Vetter (Mod. Pentathlon) and Christian Eife (former member of the national swimming team) will strengthen Frank Bussmann's team in 2016.

Frank Bussmann is currently the team manager of the PURE Racing team and managing director of the PURE Health Company.
