The Zweirad-Center Stadler , based in Regensburg, is a German bicycle retail chain.
history
The company was founded in 1936 by Josef Stadler as a bicycle shop on Schäffnerstrasse in the old town of Regensburg.
His son Helmut developed the new idea of a permanent bicycle fair with a large selection of two-wheelers, but the advice of a specialist shop . In 1976 a branch was established in Straubing .
In 1981, Helmut Stadler opened the first large-scale two-wheeler center on Kirchmeierstrasse in Regensburg. With an area of 7,500 m² it was unique in Germany at the time, today the company headquarters has an area of 12,000 m². In 1992, Stadler took over Zweirad Linz in the old building of the Annahütte steelworks in Hammerau . Two years later, the newly built business building opened at Sägewerkstrasse 2 in Hammerau. Further branches were established in Fürth (1995), Berlin-Charlottenburg (2000), Bremen (2003), Nuremberg (2005), Mannheim (2007), Günthersdorf (2008), Mülheim-Kärlich (2009), Hanover (2010), Frankfurt am Main (2011), Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg (2011), Munich (2012), Chemnitz (2016), Essen (2016). In 2016 a new business building was opened in Bremen at Hansator 1. In December 2017, Stadler opened a new branch in Munich Au-Haidhausen, while the branch in Munich-Pasing was closed. In spring 2018, Stadler bought two bicycle dealers: Zweirad Center Zilles in Mönchengladbach and Zweirad XXXL in Düsseldorf. The youngest branch in Vösendorf near Vienna opened on February 20, 2020.
As part of the corona crisis, a large number of complaints about inadequate service in the online shop have been published.
Companies
Zweirad-Center Stadler has 20 branches across Germany and one location in Austria. Around 1,400 people are employed in the 21 branches.
The individual locations of Zweirad-Center Stadler are each legally independent companies and organized as a GmbH . Their management consists of Helmut Stadler and his two daughters Bärbel Stadler and Caroline Elleke. VeloConcept GmbH also belongs to the Stadler Group
Own brands
Stadler sells bicycles and bicycle accessories under its own brands; these include Bike Manufaktur, Dynamics, Exte, Hera, Ragazzi, DynaBike and Triumph.

- Stadler sponsors the inline skating team PURE Racing Team around Frank Bussmann
- Stadler has had its own inline skating team and cycling team since 2006
