Frank Fiddes

Frank James Fiddes (born July 16, 1906 in Toronto ; † March 26, 1981 ibid) was a Canadian rower who won an Olympic bronze medal in eighth place in 1928 .

Frank Fiddes from Argonaut Rowing Club in Toronto was part of the Canadian eight, in the occupation of Frederick Hedges , Frank Fiddes, John Hand , Herbert Richardson , Jack Murdoch , Athol Meech , Edgar Norris , William Ross and helmsman John Donnelly at the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam started. A total of eleven boats took part, in the individual rounds only two boats could compete against each other. The Canadians won in the first round against the boat from Denmark, continued without a fight in the second round and won against the Polish eighth in the third round. In the semifinals, the Canadians were defeated by the boat from the United States and received the bronze medal behind the US boat and the British.
