Frank Hirschinger
Frank Hirschinger (* 1966 in Waiblingen ) is a German historian and clarinetist .
Life
Hirschinger studied music and history in Stuttgart and Halle and received his doctorate in 2001 from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . In 1991 he became principal clarinet in the orchestra of the Halle Opera House . He has been with the Staatskapelle Halle since the orchestra merged in 2006 .
He published books on the political history of the GDR and German communism .
Hirschinger was a member of the CDU and active in the Halle-Ost branch until he left in 2013 .
