Frank Lebert (born June 28, 1960 in Erbach ) is a German sports marketing manager , former athlete and trainer of the German Athletics Association . Since 2009 he has been managing director of Deutsche Leichtathletik Marketing GmbH (DLM) .

Career

Lebert studied economics and sports science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt / Main and at the TH Darmstadt .

After finishing his active career as a middle distance athlete at the LG Frankfurt and the ASC Darmstadt , Lebert started working as a trainer for the German Athletics Association (DLV) and as a personal coach for numerous European, World Cup and Olympic participants.

At the same time, he took up a position as a sports marketing consultant at Nike Deutschland GmbH in 1986 . After the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta (USA), Frank Lebert then focused exclusively on a career in the sports business at Nike International. Until 2009 he worked for the sporting goods manufacturer as Sports Marketing Director for the regions Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia.

In 2009 Frank Lebert took over the role of managing director of the marketing agency of the German Athletics Association. At the time, it was still operating under the name of Deutsche Leichtathletik Promotion- und Projektgesellschaft (DLP) and has been operating as Deutsche Leichtathletik Marketing GmbH (DLM) since 2013.

From 2009 to 2012 Frank Lebert was a board member of the Sponsoring Association (FASPO) based in Hamburg and later Berlin. In June 2016, at the suggestion of the German Athletics Association, he was appointed to the Marketing & Commercialization Advisory  Board of the IAAF World Athletics Association .

Private

Frank Lebert is married to the former French fashion model Amina Lebert (née Traoré).
