Frank M. Cross

Frank Moore Cross Jr. (born July 13, 1921 in Ross , California , † October 17, 2012 in Rochester , New York ) was an American Old Testament scholar and Semitist .

Cross studied at Maryville College (BA, 1942) and McCormick Theological Seminary (BD, 1946); In 1950 he received his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University . From 1957 taught at the Harvard Divinity School of Harvard University , most recently until his retirement in 1992 as Hancock Professor of Hebrew and Other Oriental Languages .
