Frank Pelleg

Frank Pelleg (born September 24, 1910 in Prague as Frank Pollak , † December 20, 1968 in Haifa ) was an Israeli composer of Czech origin.

Life

He was initially the opera conductor in Prague, emigrated to Palestine in 1936 and founded an institute for music research there. Until 1952 he was director of the music department in the Ministry of Culture, was a professor at the Tel Aviv Music Academy and chairman of the International Society for New Music in Tel Aviv.

He composed theater and film music, was also an important harpsichordist and pianist .
