Frank Rousse

Frank Rousse  (before 1897-1917) was an English painter and a representative of Victorian watercolor painting .

Frank Rousse was an oil , but mainly watercolor, painter of English landscapes and coasts . He lived in Ilford , Essex and Hadley, Hertfordshire . Much of his work has been scenes from Yorkshire , particularly Whitby .

In the years from 1897 to 1917 he had demonstrably several exhibitions at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colors and at the Royal Academy of Arts . Rousse's popularity was and is great; his works are considered to be easily accessible and artistically convincing. His pictures were widely used as postcard motifs .
