Frank Weis (born July 21, 1967 ) was a soccer player at 1. FC Magdeburg , for whom he played four games in the GDR Oberliga , the highest East German division.

At the age of 13, Frank Weis was accepted into the children's team at 1. FC Magdeburg and then went through all of the club's youth departments. For the 1984/85 season he was nominated as a midfielder for the FCM's junior league team. Just a year later, at the age of 18, he was used in men's league games. There he had his first appearance on November 9, 1985 in the league game 1. FCM - 1. FC Union Berlin (2: 1) as a left defender. He came to the team as a replacement for the injured regular players Frank Siersleben and Martin Hoffmann and also played the following three point games until the end of the season, each with 90-minute stakes. After Siersleben and Hoffmann were operational again in the second half of the season, Weis did not play any more first division games. In the squad of the FCM league team for the season 1986/87 Frank Weis was officially registered as a defender. The following personal data were given: pupil, 1.70 meters tall, 67 kg heavy. However, he was not used in the league all year round. In the 1987 special edition of the sports newspaper Deutsches Sportecho it was noted under 1. FC Magdeburg - Departures: "Frank Weis (ended his active career)". At this point in time, Weis was 20 years old, and even after that he no longer appeared in higher-class football.

He then moved to FC Einheit Wernigerode in 1992 , where he was able to assert himself as a player. After many successful years, he rose to the office of coach. There he made three promotions in a row and was thus with FC Einheit in the national league. Since he could no longer find a challenge, he switched to SV Darlingerode / Drübeck as head coach. After an unfortunate season that ended with relegation, Frank Weis moved to the youth department of SV Darlingerode / Drübeck. In 2009 he went again to FC Einheit Wernigerode where he was immediately promoted to the association league as a coach. After relegation and disagreements with the executive committee of FC Einheit Wernigerode, Frank Weis voluntarily ended his career as a coach.
