Education and biography

Peter comes from a family of surgeons and has two sisters. After graduating from high school, he studied philosophy and philosophy from 1974 at the Swiss Université de Neuchatel , the Université de Strasbourg , the Université libre de Bruxelles , the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt , at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen and at the Free University in Berlin Medicine. Professional background

His training as a surgeon was followed by further specialist training in the field of plastic surgery , including at the Bergmannsheil University Clinics in Bochum, where Peter was then senior physician and head of the intensive care unit for severe burns from 1996 to 2001. Numerous research stays in the USA followed, for example at the University of Louisville, Kentucky . In 1997, Peter also completed additional training in the field of hand surgery . Today he is the head of plastic surgery at the clinic on Wittenbergplatz in Berlin.

In 2001 Peter founded the non-profit association placet eV The association brings people from crisis areas to Germany in order to treat them medically and psychologically. Today a network of 20 volunteer doctors from different fields and helpers work for the association. In 2013, Peter received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his commitment as the founder and board member .

  • Frank-Werner Peter has been working as an appraiser for the Jewish Hospital Foundation in the USA and for the German social courts since 1996.
