The house at Frankenstrasse 51 Stralsund (2012)

The house with the postal address Frankenstraße 51 is a listed building on Frankenstraße in Stralsund .

The two-story , three-axle gabled house was built in the second half of the 18th century; however, the core is much older. The facade , which was renewed in 1964, has a tail gable with a triangular attachment; in these there is a stucco relief with the dove of the Holy Spirit . A double-leaf rococo front door is inserted into a deep, arched portal niche .

At the end of 1933, Pepi Schnauzer opened a second-hand shop selling textiles and shoes here.

The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund from 1997 with the number 246.

In the sidewalk in front of the house there are three stumbling blocks , which remind of the former residents Jakob, Julius and Pepi Schnauzer (see list of stumbling blocks in Stralsund ).
