Frankenturm

The Frankenturm is part of the medieval city ​​fortifications of the Neustadt of the East Westphalian city ​​of Warburg, first mentioned around 1226 .

The still existing city tower is located on the straight, inner northern city ​​wall and served to secure it. It has a square floor plan and was probably built in the 14th century. Its inner development took place through high entrances directly from the battlements on the former 6 m high city wall. On the north side it has a stone bay window .

The curved hood dates from the 17th century.
