František Pelcner (born September 4 , according to other sources September 29, 1909 in Prague , † March 15 , according to other sources March 16, 1985 ) was a Czechoslovak football player .

Club career

Pelcner first played for SK Libeň , in 1929 he moved to Čechie Karlín . In early 1932 the winger was signed by Sparta Prague . With Sparta, Pelcner, who was considered fast and powerful, became Czechoslovak champion in 1932 and 1936. Pelcner completed a total of 99 games for Sparta, in which he scored 49 goals. In 1937 Pelcner went back to his parent club in Libeň .

Pelcner scored a total of 40 goals in 82 first division games.

National team

Pelcner played three times for the Czechoslovak national team , and the winger scored three goals. The Prague player made his debut against Poland on June 14, 1931 in Warsaw . The selection of Czechoslovakia won 4-0, Pelcner scored two goals. Nevertheless, he had to wait over two years for his next assignment, which did not follow until September 17, 1933. Czechoslovakia and Austria drew 3: 3 in Prague . His last game for Czechoslovakia made Pelcner on October 15, 1933. In qualifying for the 1934 World Cup, the Czechoslovaks met Poland, Pelcner scored the 2-1 winner in the 78th minute of the game for the guests. Pelcner did not make it into the 18-man squad for the World Cup finals.
