Franz Peter Sunday

Franz-Peter Sonntag CO (born February 1, 1920 in Bochum ; † May 22, 1987 in Cologne ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and professor of church history and patrology .

Life

Sunday came in 1949 in the Leipziger Oratory of St. Philip Neri and received on April 27, 1952 ibid, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1977 he was appointed professor of church history and patrology there, where he taught until his retirement in 1985. Among his students is the Erfurt church historian Josef Pilvousek .
