Franz Anton (Hohenzollern-Haigerloch)

Franz Anton von Hohenzollern-Haigerloch (born December 2, 1657 at Sigmaringen Castle , † October 14, 1702 in Friedlingen ) was the ruling Count of Hohenzollern-Haigerloch .

Life

Franz Anton was the youngest son of Prince Meinrad I of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1605–1681) from his marriage to Anna Marie (1613–1682), daughter of Baron Ferdinand von Törring zu Seefeld.

In imperial service Franz Anton achieved the rank of Lieutenant Field Marshal . As a result of the provisions of the deed of elevation of the family to the imperial prince, he could only rule as Count of Hohenzollern-Haigerloch. When the Swabian Hohenzollern was again prince in 1692 by Emperor Leopold I , the Haigerloch line was excluded.

Franz Anton died in the War of the Spanish Succession in the Battle of Friedlingen .

Marriage and offspring

On February 5, 1687, Franz Anton married Maria Anna Eusebia (1670–1716), daughter of Count Anton Eusebius von Königsegg-Aulendorf (1639–1692), with whom he had the following children:

  • Ferdinand Anton Leopold (1692–1750), clergyman, Prime Minister of the Electorate of Cologne
  • Maria Anna (1694-1732)
⚭ 1714 Ludwig Xaver Fugger, Count of Kirchberg and Weissenhorn (1688–1746)
  • Maria Franziska (1697–1767)
⚭ 1720 Count Franz Hugo von Königsegg-Rothenfels (1698–1772)
