Louis-Hippolyte Lebas
Louis-Hippolyte Lebas (born March 31, 1782 in Paris , † June 12, 1867 in Paris) was a French architect . He was a student of the architects Charles Percier and Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine . In addition to his outstanding teaching work, there are a few buildings in which he was significantly involved.

- His best-known work is the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette ( 9th arrondissement of Paris ), for which he was the architect in charge.
- Under the supervision of his teacher Fontaine, he was also instrumental in the Chapelle expiatoire ( 8th arrondissement of Paris), which commemorated Louis XVI. and Marie Antoinette of Louis XVIII. was commissioned.
- Under the direction of Eloi Labarre (1764-1833) he was instrumental in the completion of the Palais Brongniart ( 2nd arrondissement of Paris), the building of the Paris Stock Exchange , after the architect and namesake Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart originally commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte (1739–1813) had died before completion.

Louis-Hippolyte Lebas taught at the École des Beaux-Arts between 1843 and 1863. He was a. a. Teacher of architects.

Memoria
On August 10, 1868, not far from the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette church that he designed , a connecting street between the Rue des Martyrs and Rue de Maubeuge was named after Lebas , the Rue Hippolyte Lebas .
