Franz Anton Cramer (* 1776 in Paderborn; † May 9, 1829 in Paderborn) was a court pharmacist in Paderborn . The Cramer'sche Hofapotheke is the later Adler pharmacy on the market in Paderborn. He is the great-grandfather of the writer Hermann Löns .

Discovery of morphine

On October 1, 1799, Friedrich Sertürner began an apprenticeship there, which he finished after four years. During this time he began his scientific work, which later became the basis for the discovery of morphine . In 1804, Friedrich Sertürner isolated morphine from the aqueous opium extract for the first time in the Cramer's court pharmacy .
