Franz Anton Schönberger

Franz Anton Schönberger (born February 7, 1811 in Weschen , Austrian Empire , † March 9, 1886 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ) was an Austrian businessman and merchant .

He is the father of the businessman and diplomat Richard Schönberger (1846–1921), as well as the export merchants and trade representatives Hugo Schönberger (1838–1900) and Victor von Schönberger (1844–1893).

Life

Schönberger was born the son of a farmer. As the owner of the “Zur Bohemian Krone” store, he was a respected merchant in Prague's old town. He mainly traded in cut, fashion and plaster goods and was probably a member of the Prague trade committee from 1833 . After he became a sworn appraiser of the Imperial and Royal Chamber of Commerce in 1839 , he also had a defeat for Viennese straw hats, umbrellas and parasols in addition to commission and shipping business since 1844. As a member (substitute) he was also a member of the Prague Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1853 to 1867 and was, among other things, an honorary member of the administrative board of the Prague Gremial Hospital. From the mid- 1870s , Schönberger lived in Vienna , where his sons had already settled in the previous years. His brother, Franz Ferdinand Schönberger, had already established himself here in 1847, partly with the financial support of Franz Anton Schönberger, as a businessman and co-owner of the white, short and fashion store "Zum Seidenhandschuh" on the Wiener Graben . Franz Anton Schönberger died on March 9, 1886 at the age of 75 in Vienna.
