Life

Origin and family

Franz Arnold von Raesfeld zu Ostendorf came from the Westphalian noble family von Raesfeld . He was the son of Christoph Heinrich von Raesfeld zu Ostendorf (1678–1729), who married Anna Adriane Wilhelmine Theresia von Wolff-Metternich on October 27, 1708 . In his second marriage, Christoph Heinrich was married to baroness Maria Helena Droste zu Vischering, daughter of Christoph Heidenreich Droste zu Vischering .

Career and work

In 1723 renounced his uncle Johann Franz to Dompräbenden in Muenster and Osnabrueck . The revolt took place in Münster on October 26, 1723. As early as July 12, 1729 , he renounced in favor of Canon Johann Mauritz von Plettenberg . This waiver was tied to the condition that Plettenberg transfer the prebend he incurred as a Turnar in Paderborn to a family member of Droste to Vischering. Franz Arnold felt very committed to the family of his stepmother Maria Helena Droste zu Vischering. After he took over the inheritance of his father and was appointed to Drost in Dülmen on May 30, 1729 , he married Johanna Maria von Droste zu Vischering, the niece of his stepmother.
