Franz Asboth

Franz Asboth (born July 31, 1902 in Oberwart ; † October 11, 1967 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and foreman. From 1945 to 1947 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Asboth was born as the son of the small farmer Franz Asboth from Oberwart and attended elementary school in Oberwart before he learned the trade of carpenter. From 1933 to 1939 he worked as a construction foreman in Iran and then as a carpenter foreman in Vienna. From 1942 to 1945 he did his military service during the Second World War in the Todt Organization . After the war he lived temporarily in Illmitz from 1950 to 1962 , where he ran a cinema.

Asboth was married.

politics

From April to July 1945 Asboth was appointed mayor of Oberwart by the Soviet occupying forces and subsequently built up the SPÖ organization in the city and in the district. From 1945 he was a board member of the SPÖ Burgenland and a member of the board of the consumer cooperative. Furthermore, Asboth was district party chairman and represented the SPÖ in the fifth legislative period from December 13, 1945 to October 9, 1947 in the Burgenland state parliament.
