Franz Eichfeld

Franz Eichfeld (born June 16, 1635 in Celle ; † May 16, 1707 ibid) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the general diocese of Lüneburg-Celle .

Life

Eichfeld was a son of the businessman Friedrich Eichfeld. He attended school in Celle and from 1652 University of Helmstedt , where he first studied pharmacy , then theology . In 1656 he moved to the University of Jena . In 1658 he returned to Celle and in 1659 he moved back to the University of Helmstedt. In 1661 Eichfeld took up a position as a garrison preacher in Lüneburg . In 1663 he was appointed prior of the Walkenried monastery , but before he took office he was appointed to the fourth pastorate (2nd diaconate) at the town church of St. Marien in Celle. There he became third pastor (1st deacon) in 1676, second pastor and archdeacon in 1690 and first pastor and general superintendent of the general diocese of Lüneburg-Celle in 1691. On July 15, 1706 he was appointed electoral councilor in the consistory.
