Johann Christoph Boecklin

Johann Christoph Boecklin (born October 12, 1657 in Augsburg , † February 9, 1709 in Leipzig ) was a German engraver .

Boecklin worked as a copper engraver in Leipzig. In addition to his work as an illustrator, he engraved over 120 portraits of contemporaries, which for his creative period stand out due to their comparatively sparse framing. Boecklin signed “Christoph Böcklin Aug. Vind. sculpebat Lipsiae. "
