Franz Grabe

Franz Grabe (born March 12, 1843 in Altenbruch ( Land Hadeln , now Cuxhaven ); † March 30, 1923 in Lüdingworth , Land Hadeln, now Cuxhaven) was a German businessman and author.

biography

Grabe was the son of a teacher. At his father's request, he learned the trade in Detmold from 1860 onwards. In 1868 he founded his own business in Lüdingworth. From 1882 he also managed the local post office. In 1902 he gave up his business and then worked as a storyteller, writer, composer, playwright and local historian.

Honors

  • A street was named after him in Cuxhaven-Lüdingworth.
  • In 1913 he received the Prussian Cross of Merit in silver.
