Franz Herrig

Franz (Michael) Herrig (born July 26, 1906 in Trier ; † May 17, 1961 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Herrig attended primary school and trained as a bricklayer in Luxembourg . He then worked there as a bricklayer foreman. After returning to Germany, he was a bricklayer and bricklayer foreman from 1938 to 1941, served in the war from 1941 to 1942, was a technical employee at the Trier airport administration in 1943, a technical employee at the housing office in 1947 and at the Trier building police office from 1948 to 1961.

Before 1933 he was a member of the SPD. From 1938 to 1944 he was a member of the DAF and from 1942 to 1944 of the Nazi war victims' pension . After 1945 he rejoined the SPD.

From November 4, 1949 to May 17, 1951 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament as the successor to the retired MP Peter Jacobs . In the state parliament he was a member of the agricultural policy committee.
