Franz Huber

Franz Huber (born November 30, 1857 in Hirnsdorf , Weiz district ; † October 20, 1953 in Södingberg , Voitsberg district ) was an Austrian politician ( CS ) and landowner. He was a member of the Austrian House of Representatives and member of the Styrian Landtag .

Life

Huber was born as the son of the farmer Johann Huber. He attended the six-class elementary school and served as a platoon leader in the 6th Field Artillery Regiment. Professionally, he was active as the landowner of the Münichhof in Södingberg from 1892. In addition to his professional activity, he was involved in the volunteer fire brigade , where he was captain of the FF-Stallhofen from 1894 to 1922. He also acted as chairman of the Raiffeisenkasse Södingberg and in 1909 became a member of the committee of the Catholic-conservative farmers' association for Central and Upper Styria. In addition, from 1901 he was vice-president of the farmers 'association treasury of the Catholic-conservative farmers' association and from 1902 vice-president of the mutual fire insurance association for Central and Upper Styria. Between 1904 and 1918 he was a member of the Styrian Landtag and was deputy chairman of the Voitsberg district council and councilor in Södingberg. As a Catholic-Conservative candidate, he stood in the Reichsrat election in 1901 in the constituency of the rural communities of Graz, Voitsberg and Wildon and was elected to the House of Representatives. In the Reichsrat election in 1907 , he ran in the new constituency of Styria 17 and was able to re-enter as a candidate for the Christian Social Party. In 1911 he was able to defend his mandate in the constituency. As a result, Huber was a member of the House of Representatives from January 31, 1901 to November 12, 1918, where he was a member of the Zentrum Club from 1901. From 1907 he belonged to the Christian Social Association, which in 1911 became the Christian Social Association of German MPs.

As an elected member of the House of Representatives, Huber was also a member of the Provisional National Assembly between October 21, 1918 and February 16, 1919 .
