Franz Huschka of Raschitzburg

Franz Huschka Ritter von Raschitzburg (* 1751 ; † January 10, 1830 ) was an Austrian linen dealer and benefactor of Grinzing .

Among other things, Huschka made it possible to build the new Grinzing cemetery by donating a plot of 2,867 square meters . Around 1810 he was the owner of the "Pöltingerhof" in Grinzing. For centuries this Freihof was the reading courtyard of the Canon Monastery of St. Pölten and was therefore popularly known as the “Pöltingerhof”. Under Josef II the monastery goods were sold for the benefit of the Lower Austrian Religious Fund.

Huschka found his final resting place in the Grinzinger Friedhof in Vienna . Also in Grinzing, the Huschkagasse is named after him.
