Franz Karl Burgmer (* 28. February 1930 in Dürscheid ; † 27. September 2017 in Cologne ) was a German politician of the CDU and architect .

education and profession

Franz Karl Burgmer attended elementary school and the Progymnasium Bensberg , where he received his secondary school leaving certificate in 1948. From 1948 to 1952 he completed a bricklayer internship and an apprenticeship as a draftsman . He was a draftsman from 1952 to 1955 and an architect and site manager from 1955 to 1965 . He worked as a freelance architect from 1965 to 1971, and in 1971 he became a freelance architect member of an architecture firm .

politics

Franz Karl Burgmer was a member of the CDU from 1955 until his death. He became a member of the city party executive committee and the party executive committee of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . From 1956 to 1974 he was city ​​councilor in Bensberg and also chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from 1968 to 1974. After the cities of Bensberg and Bergisch Gladbach were merged , he became the first mayor of the “new” Bergisch Gladbach in 1975 and remained so until 1984.

Franz Karl Burgmer was from May 28, 1975 to May 29, 1985 directly elected member of the 8th and 9th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 027 Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis I and constituency 024 Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis III.
