Franz Kaufmann (born May 13, 1917 in Graz ; † January 1, 2010 ) was an Austrian entrepreneur, Graz city ​​councilor and Chamber of Commerce official.

Franz Kaufmann was born as the son of a car entrepreneur in Graz and embarked on a commercial career after the early death of his father. During the Second World War he did six years of military service. After 1945 he was a traveling salesman, then a department head and buyer in various companies in the textile trade, but then went into business for himself as a yard goods dealer in a small shop. In 1954, Franz Kaufmann joined the Geissler company as a managing partner, which he has run as sole owner since 1957 and which he developed into one of the leading companies in the industry. From 1955 he was a committee member of the state committee of the textile trade, from 1960 its head.

In 1966 he was elected Vice President of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, in 1980 he was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce, at that time the Styrian Chamber of Commerce. Politically, Franz Kaufmann was sent to Graz in May 1963 for the ÖVP in the city senate of the provincial capital of Graz. He was a member of this until 1974, as political advisor for the affairs of the Trade and Market Office and the Statistical Office.
