Franz Kindscher

Franz Kindscher (born January 29, 1824 in Dessau , † February 6, 1905 in Zerbst ) was a German teacher, archivist and historian.

Live and act

After studying in Leipzig and Berlin , Kindscher became a teacher. He worked in Wörlitz , Dessau and from 1849 in Zerbst. First he made ancient philological studies; afterwards Kindscher became increasingly concerned with the past of the city of Zerbst, which is why he switched to the state archive service in 1876. From 1886 he headed the ducal house and state archive. Kindscher was involved in the Association for Anhalt History and Archeology, from 1890 to 1901 as chairman. In addition to the edition of the Zerbster Ratschronik (by him attributed to Peter Becker) from the city ​​archive , he has mainly published essays on the history of Anhalt.
