Franz Laub (composer)

Franz Laub (* 1872 in Laupheim , Württemberg ; † April 30, 1945 there ) was a German musician and composer .

Life

After being a military musician in 1904, he was elected city music director of the Laupheim city band in his southern German hometown of Laupheim (near Ulm ), where he developed an extremely successful career as the federal music director of the Upper Swabian (brass) music association . He left behind more than forty march compositions , concert pieces and potpourris , including the "Hoch-Schwaben-Marsch", which is still popular today.
