Franz Leisser

Franz Leisser (born September 17, 1914 in Altruppersdorf ; † March 23, 1984 in Waidhofen an der Thaya ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and high school professor . From 1956 to 1971 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Leisser attended six classes of elementary school and then graduated from the private high school in Kalksburg . After graduating from high school in 1934 , he studied eight semesters of classical philology at the University of Vienna . In 1939 Leisser passed the teaching examination for secondary schools in Latin and Greek. Leisser subsequently became a teacher at the Wiener Neustadt State High School in 1939 and later as a professor at the Waidhofen an der Thaya High School .

politics

From 1948 onwards, Leisser became politically active as a councilor in Waidhofen an der Thaya, in 1950 he was promoted to city councilor, and from 1955 onwards he held the office of mayor. He was also the regional group chairman of the professors and teachers at secondary schools of the ÖAAB Lower Austria and represented the ÖVP in the National Council between June 8, 1956 and November 4, 1971.

He was a member of the Rugia Waidhofen student union since 1946 and of Chremisa Krems in 1956.
