Franz Linser

Franz Linser (born June 22, 1961 in Breitenwang ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and former politician ( FPÖ ). Linser was a member of the European Parliament and party chairman of the FPÖ Tyrol.

Linser attended elementary school from 1966 to 1971 and from 1971 a federal high school. After graduating from high school in 1979, Linser did military service from 1979 to 1980 and studied English, American and physical education at the University of Innsbruck from 1980 to 1986 . He completed his studies with the academic degree Mag. Phil. and obtained his doctorate in 1993 as Dr. phil. for sports science at the University of Innsbruck. In addition, Linser completed a state trainer training from 1988 to 1990.

From 1989 Linser was a lecturer at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Innsbruck and from 1989 to 1992 coach of the Austrian national ski team. From 1991 to 1993 he developed a new type of training device and had it patented. In 1993 he founded a consulting company and took over its management. After the end of his political career, Linser worked as a sports scientist and masseur for the ÖSV ladies. Linser was also manager of Olympiaworld in Innsbruck for 16 months, with a control office report criticizing Linser's high clearance and the company's high deficit.

Linser represented the FPÖ from April 26, 1996 to July 20, 1999 in the European Parliament and on April 26, 1996 was a member of the Austrian National Council . He was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament from March 30, 1999 to October 20, 2003 and was also state party chairman of the FPÖ Tyrol. In the 1998 municipal council elections in Reutte he achieved with his list “FPÖ - Reutte Dr. Franz Linser “around 19 percent of the votes and three mandates. In November 1999 Linser announced that he would no longer run for a further term as state party chairman. Linser justified his step with private and professional considerations.

Linser married his Italian girlfriend in 2000.
