Rauch, 1909.

Franz Rauch (born October 15, 1878 in Stralsund , † May 23, 1960 in Berlin ) was a German screenwriter and actor .

He made his acting debut in 1897 at the Stralsund Theater in his hometown. Rauch played on numerous stages before he came to silent film as a screenwriter and actor in 1920. Ossi Oswalda was the star of these films several times .

By far most of the stories from Rauch's pen were harmless romantic comedies, even after the dawn of the sound film age. One of the few exceptions with a dramatic character is the film biography about the poet Theodor Körner .
