Franz Rogler

Franz Rogler (* 1921 in Graz ; † 1994 ) was an Austrian visual artist.

Life

Franz Rogler attended the class for wood and stone carving at the Kunstgewerbeschule Graz , then the master class for painting. As a war painter he was with Hans Fronius in Russia and Italy. After the war he continued his studies in Basel and at the Vienna Art Academy . In Graz he worked as a freelancer from the 1950s. As a lecturer at the HTL (from 1960) and from 1976 as professor and head of the master school for painting, he shaped generations of young art students. Franz Rogler was married to Anna Rogler-Kammerer from 1970 .
