The parish church of Leoben-Donawitz is located in the Donawitz district in the municipality of Leoben in the Leoben district of Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church, which is under the patronage of Saint Joseph of Nazareth , belongs to the dean's office in Leoben in the diocese of Graz-Seckau . The church is under monument protection with the sacristan's house and rectory ( list entry ).

history

The church was built from 1949 to 1954 according to the plans of the architects Karl Lebwohl and Kurt Weber-Mzell.

architecture

The nave is six steel parabolic arc - Binder divided, which, like the vault ribs and wall services act. The choir is raised by twelve steps. There is a lower church under the choir , which was renovated in 1972/1973. On the nave ceiling mirrors, symbolic representations of the seven sacraments can be seen, painted by Franz Rogler .

The western facade tower is mighty and like a westwork .

Furnishing

The people's altar from 1981 was designed by the architect Josef Hinger. Ernst von Dombrowski created the Way of the Cross .

Dreher and Reinisch built the organ .
