The Leoben City Theater is the oldest continuously operated theater in Austria. It was founded in 1791 as the “Poor Institute Theater” and from 1883 is owned by the municipality. It is a relatively small but complete theater and has 283 seats and 105 standing places. The house is a classical , two-story building. The cast iron sculptures Bergmann and Hüttenmann attached to the portal refer to the foundations of bourgeois prosperity in the region in the early 19th century. In 1965 the auditorium was renewed, dispensing with older decorative elements, so that today only the stucco ceiling is reminiscent of the historicist era.

Numerous guest performances, annual performance of an operetta in own production, fairy tale subscription from the Junge Bühne.

The original church building by Stift Göß was an early Romanesque three-aisled basilica with a choir square flanked by two towers. There is a crypt under the semicircular apse. The church suffered fires in the 12th century and in 1336. In 1338 a Gothic choir was under construction. Around 1510 to 1522, under the abbess Margaretha von Mindorf (1514–1523), the existing nave was renovated and redesigned in the late Gothic style, and Christoph Leubmer, registered in 1516 in the Admonter Hüttenbuch, was accepted as the master builder.
