A church was consecrated in 1268. The fortified churchyard wall was erected after the Turkish invasion (1480). In 1595 the church suffered a fire and was then renovated. In 1608 Kalwang was incorporated into its own parish and probably the Admond monastery. In 1742 the choir was rebuilt.

The stately building dates from 1649 and has a double hipped roof. It has a rustic portal with the coat of arms of the Admont abbot Adalbert Heufler (1675–1696) and wrought iron window baskets. The bay-like chapel on the upper floor was built in 1684 and has heavy vaulted decorations. The altar of St. Barbara comes from the same time and carries statues of hll. Barbara, Benedict, Scholastica and the penitent Maria Magdalena.

Description: Brief information about the monument.
