The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1175. In the 17th century, it was converted into a three-storey baroque double-gabled building. The owners changed constantly. It has belonged to the Franz Mayr-Melnhof family since 1952 . Until 2012 it was used for a home economics school of the St. Martin educational institution.

The chapel is part of the farm vulgo Diepold (Margit Ertl) in Schardorf. It was built in the 19th century and recently renovated. A special feature is the quality of the picture, which shows the coronation of the Virgin Mary and dates from the 19th century.

The Schlossbauer farm is located on the Mell terrace above Trofaiach. The Zmöll Castle, first mentioned in 1220, existed there until the 18th century, the main building of which has largely been preserved. After a fire in 1887, it was rebuilt on the old walls without a tower. Since then the facility has been a farm.

The Neuried Chapel is located next to the Neuriedhube above Trofaiach. From there you have a beautiful view of the Trofaiach basin . The Neuriedhube is unofficially called "Steinacher" after a previous tenant.

Former substation - today used as a depot for the city museum.

From 1921 onwards, the Austrian Alpine Mining Company's operations were connected with power lines. The line from Eisenerz via the Präbichl to Donawitz was built by 1923 . There were two substations on this line, one on the Präbichl-Passhöhe and this one in Trofaiach, which supplied the town and the neighboring communities.

Stibichhofen Castle dates from the end of the 15th century and was owned by the Barons von Stübich until 1637 , and from 1674 owned by the poet and plague doctor Adam von Lebenwaldt . The rectangular building with its two corner towers is Gothic in essence and was rebuilt to its present appearance in the 17th century. Skylight grille from the 17th century and several Gothic windows, three iron doors in Gothic door frames in the hall on the ground floor. From 1886 Hans von Rebenburg was the castle owner. Rebenburggasse is named after him. His nephew and heir Alexander Kyd-Rebenburg sold the castle to the Evangelical parish in 1953. This is used by Stibichhofen Castle as a pastoral care center, prayer room and youth hostel. The showrooms of the Trofaiach City Museum have been located on the ground floor since 1976.

The crucifix stands at a fork in the road on the Mell plateau on a popular promenade. Behind it is a robinia that has looked half dead for decades, but still sprouts every year. There is actually no known explanation for the term “Red Lord God”, there are only unsecured assumptions.

From around 900 to 700 BC There was a urnfield settlement on the Kulm in which an estimated 200 to 300 people lived. The settlement area extends over the communities of Sankt Peter-Freienstein and Trofaiach.

The powder tower including the workshop was the main building and power center of the gunpowder factory built in 1915/16. In 1926 the powder factory was closed. A washing machine factory was located here for a few decades after the Second World War. Today the building and site are rented to various companies.
