Franz Schäfer (Manager)

Franz Schäfer (born December 14, 1865 , † May 11, 1937 in Magdeburg ) was a German insurance director .

Life

Schäfer joined the Magdeburger Feuerversicherungs-Gesellschaft on February 1, 1901, and was elected General Director of the Magdeburg Fire Insurance Company on January 1, 1917 as Hermann Vatke's former deputy , which he remained until 1929.

From 1926 to 1930 he was also in charge of the Reich Association of Private Insurance .

Schäfer was a member of the main committee of the German Industry and Trade Conference and a member of the state committee of the Prussian Chambers of Industry and Commerce as well as chairman of the working group of private fire insurance companies in Germany. He also held numerous other supervisory board mandates for foreign companies.
