Babekuhl is an inhabited part of the municipality of Lanz of the Lenzen-Elbtalaue office in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is located two kilometers east of Lanz and ten kilometers east-southeast of Lenzen (Elbe) , the seat of the Lenzen-Elbtalaue office, and is located in the district of Lanz.

Neighboring towns are Gadow in the north, Lenzersilge in the northeast, Bärwinkel in the southeast, Bernheide in the south and Lanz in the west.

The Löcknitz River is in close proximity to the village . The Elbe is about three kilometers away.

history

Babekuhl was first mentioned in a document in 1406. It belonged to Cumlosen at the time . Around 1800 the place belonged to the Lenzenschen district in the province of Prignitz , part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg . In a description of the Mark Brandenburg from 1804, the place was recorded as a leasehold and colony. At that time it had eight Büdner, three granny anniversaries, eight fireplaces and a total of 52 residents. He was parish in Lanz and could be reached by post via Lenzen. The Vorwerk was given by the finance department in Lenzen in Erbbacht and was in the possession of the dike captain of Möllendorf zu Gadow. In 1843 a blacksmith's shop in Babekuhl is reported.
