Gadow is an inhabited part of the community Lanz of the Lenzen-Elbtalaue office in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is located two kilometers northeast of Lanz and ten kilometers east-southeast of Lenzen (Elbe) , the seat of the Lenzen-Elbtalaue office and is in the district of Lanz.

Neighboring places are Birkholz and Laaslich in the northeast, Lenzersilge in the east, Bärwinkel in the southeast, Babekuhl in the south, Lanz in the southwest, and Ferbitz in the northwest.

history

Around 1800 the place belonged to the Lenzenschen district in the province of Prignitz , part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg . In a description of the Mark Brandenburg from 1804, Gadow was listed as a noble estate, which was in the possession of a cavalry master from Möllendorf who was resident here . At the time, the estate included a mill, seven fireplaces and 200 acres of wood, as well as a forester, two Büdner and three residents. The total of 63 residents were parished to the Perleberg inspection after Cumlosen and could be reached by post via the address Perleberg.
