Field stone church in Laaslich

The Laas field stone church is a rectangular, late Gothic field stone building from the 15th century. A dendrochronological investigation in September 2000 showed that the trees from which the roof of the church was made were felled in 1496, 1497 and 1498, which means that the church was also built as a Catholic village church during these years . The east gable consists of ornamental framework from 1582 and is crowned by a reversible stick, which was re-turned based on the model rediscovered during the renovation in 1998-2004. The tower on the west side was added at the beginning of the 16th century, thus completing the current appearance. He wears a curly and baroque baroque (Welsche) hood with an open lantern.

The interior of the church has a flat roof. Inside the church a carved consecration cross can be seen on the north side. On the east side there is a shrine with a sacraments with a wooden door and a cover. The winged altar dates from 1558 and depicts the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The window openings are enlarged in Baroque style, with the remains of the old brick reveals. Recesses in the inside of the entrance door, through which the door could be locked from the inside with a strong cross bolt, indicate the function as an escape and fortified church. There is still a small opening to the right of the entrance, which at that time was a window or loopholes.

In 1579 the church was fundamentally redesigned. The west gallery was built and the windows were enlarged so that more light comes into the interior.

Between 1998 and 2004 the church was renovated through donations and contributions from the Laas citizens.
