geography
Cumlosen is located on the Elbe about six kilometers northwest of Wittenberge in the Elbe-Brandenburg River Landscape Biosphere Reserve .
Neighboring towns to Cumlosen are Bärwinkel in the north, Motrich and Bentwisch in the northeast, Lindenberg in the east, Wentdorf, Wittenberge and Wahrenberg in the southeast, Müggendorf in the south, Wanzer , Klein Wanzer , Aulosen , Stresow and Gummern in the southwest, Schnackenburg in the west and Lütkenwisch , Jagel and Bernheide in the northwest.

The inhabited districts of Motrich , Müggendorf and Wentdorf belong to Cumlosen . They were incorporated into Cumlosen in 1973.
history
Cumlosen belonged to the Westprignitz district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Perleberg district in the GDR district of Schwerin from 1952 . Cumlosen has been in the Brandenburg district of Prignitz since 1993.
In the GDR , Cumlosen was the border crossing point for shipping between the GDR and the Federal Republic.
