geography

The place is a typical round for the Prignitz and lies in a landscape characterized by fields and meadows about 18 kilometers north of the district town of Perleberg .

Community structure

The municipality of Pirow includes the district of Hülsebeck, the inhabited parts of the municipality Bresch, Burow, Mollnitz, Pirow and Waldhof as well as the extension and Burow extension residential areas.

history

Pirowe belonged to the Westprignitz district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Perleberg district in the GDR district of Schwerin from 1952 . The community has been in the Brandenburg district of Prignitz since 1993.

Incorporations

Bresch and Burow have been part of the municipality of Pirow since January 1, 1973. On December 31, 2001, Hülsebeck was incorporated.
