Klein Wanzer is a residential area in the Wanzer district of the municipality of Aland in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The Altmark village of Klein Wanzer, a dead-end village , is located directly on the Aland, one kilometer northwest of Wanzer, eleven kilometers northwest of Krüden in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve . Apart from a deserted area in the village of Stresow in the neighboring district of Aulosen , the place is the northernmost settlement of Saxony-Anhalt.
The neighboring towns are Mittelhorst and Jagel in the north, Cumlosen , Wentdorf and Müggendorf in the northeast, Wahrenberg , Ziegelei , Wanzer and Kahlenberge in the southeast, Deutsch in the south, Aulosen and Bömenzien in the southwest, Nienwalde in the west, and Kapern , Stresow, Gummern , Schnackenburg and Lütkenwisch in the northwest.
On the left-hand dike of the Aland and almost 600 meters west-northwest of the settlement is the headwaters of the Seege , which is still called the Schaugraben here.

Klein Wanzer is a horseshoe-shaped wendische establishment, in 1319 as a turning Wantzewer's was mentioned as Margrave Woldemar the Amelungsborn propriation possessions to Aulosen and related sites. Further mentions are 1541 Lütken Wanzer , 1687 Lütken Wantzer and 1804 Klein Wanzer .
Incorporations
On April 1, 1936, the municipality of Klein Wanzer from the Osterburg district was incorporated into the municipality of Groß Wanzer , and Groß Wanzer was renamed "Wanzer".
Until the end of 2009, Klein Wanzer was part of the previously independent municipality of Wanzer. On January 1, 2010, the place became part of the newly formed municipality of Aland and has existed since then as a residential area of the Wanzer district.
