Vielbaum is a part of the municipality of Aland in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Vielbaum, a marshland village with a church, is located on the Alter Augraben in the Wische countryside , three kilometers northwest of the Hanseatic town of Seehausen and two kilometers southeast of Krüden , where the seat of the municipality of Aland is located. The districts to the north of state road 2 running through the village belong to the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve and are part of the Aland-Elbe-Niederung nature reserve .

history

In 1207 the sale of a Hufe Landes in Vilbom to the Marienthal monastery near Helmstedt was confirmed by the Margrave Albrecht II . Further mentions were in 1208 in Vilbom , 1398 ecclesie in vylbom , 1541 Vilbohm and 1687 Vielbaum .

Incorporations

On June 2, 1902, the manor district of Vielbaum I and the rural community of Vielbaum were combined with the residential area Wilhelminenhof to form a rural community of Vielbaum. On September 30, 1928, the manor districts of Vosshof (formerly Manor Vielbaum II) and Vielbaum II (formerly Manor Vielbaum III and V) were merged with the rural community of Vielbaum.

Gut Vielbaum I was directly west of the church, Vielbaum II one kilometer west-northwest of the church.

Wilhelminenhof was a residential area of ​​the community of Vielbaum from 1885 to 1931. On July 1, 1950, the community of Vielbaum was dissolved by incorporation into the community of Krüden . In 1957, Vielbaum was one of Krüden's homes. In 1986, in addition to Vielbaum, Wilhelminenhof and Vosshof were listed as districts of Krüden.

Until the end of 2009, Vielbaum remained a district of the previously independent municipality of Krüden. On January 1, 2010, the place became a district of the newly formed municipality Aland on the same date.

The Protestant parish of Vielbaum used to belong to the parish of Krüden (Crüden). Since 1993 the Evangelicals from Vielbaum belonged to the parish of Krüden-Vielbaum and until 2018 to the parish of Seehausen. Culture and sights

  • The Protestant village church of Vielbaum stands on a hill 200 meters north of Landesstraße 2. It is a late Romanesque field stone building consisting of a ship and a retracted rectangular choir from the end of the 12th century and is a listed building.
  • The local cemetery is in the churchyard.
