Groß Holzhausen is a residential area in the district of Krüden in the municipality of Aland in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The Altmark village Großholzhausen, a march Hufendorf , located about a kilometer northwest of Krüden and about 7 kilometers northwest of Seehausen (Altmark) . In the north flowing Augraben Krüden in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve in the conservation area of Aland Elbe valley.
Neighboring places are in the southeast Krüden , in the west the residential area "Am Waldrand" (the former rabbit settlement), as well as Gerichsee and in the northwest Scharpenhufe .
history
In the first mention of 1518 Holthusen it is reported that the von Eimbeck (Einbeck), the von Rochow and the von Jagow had income or rights in the village and in 1598 over 13 fishing farms. In 1620 it was called Holdhusen in der Natterheide , in 1687 Holtzhusen in Natterwische and in 1804 already in Groß Holzhausen . In 1686 there was a windmill that still existed in 1840. Hermes and Weigelt wrote in 1842: "The residents are among the wealthier in the district".
First mentioned in 1345
Wilhelm Zahn listed earlier mentions and provided them with a question mark: 1345 obernholczhusen , 1472 holtzhausen , 1551 holtzhusen . The historian Peter P. Rohrlach writes: The older documents cannot be clearly separated between large and small Holzhausen.
Incorporations
On April 1, 1939, the communities of Groß Holzhausen and Krüden from the district of Osterburg were merged into one community with the name Krüden. In 1939 the Upper President of the Province of Saxony determined the name "Krüden, district of Groß Holzhausen" for the former municipality of Groß Holzhausen.
On January 1, 2010 Krüden was incorporated into the municipality of Aland. Krüden came as a district to the municipality of Aland. The district of Groß Holzhausen no longer existed. The Groß Holzhausen residential area was assigned directly to the Krüden district.

The Evangelical Christians from Groß Holzhausen are parish in the Evangelical parish of Krüden, which belonged to the parish of Krüden (Crüden). Since 1993 they have belonged with the Evangelicals from Krüden to the parish parish Krüden-Vielbaum and today to the parish area Seehausen in the parish of Stendal in the Provostspengel Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
