Franz Schediwy (born November 28, 1851 in Daschitz , Bohemia ; † November 5, 1933 ) is the founder of the formerly famous Ludwigsburg wind instrument company Schediwy. He was the Württemberg royal purveyor to the court. His trumpets and cross cornets were considered the best of his time in Europe.

Franz Schediwy was born on November 28, 1851 in Daschitz in Bohemia . He completed an apprenticeship as an instrument maker and studied music in Vienna . Then he moved to Ludwigsburg in Württemberg . It was here in 1875 that he founded his company for the manufacture of wind instruments. He made trumpets, cornets, tenor horns and tubas, among other things. His reputation grew rapidly and its instruments have been because of their soft sound and good speech appreciated worldwide.
